Folk dance is a powerful impulse that entails the body moving rhythmically in a set space, usually to music, with the goal of conveying an idea or feeling and releasing energy. It depicts a well-liked dance regarded as a component of the customs of a specific group of people, region, or nation. OSHWAL ACADEMY NAIROBI NURSERY has organized a Solo Folk Dance Competition for 3 to 10 years old children (OPEN TO ALL) on 11th May 2024 from 9.30am. The theme is folk dance of any country. It in an effort to provide young, gifted dancers with the opportunity to further their interest in cultural and folk-dance forms. With the help of props and the folk costumes, the students will be able to perform their presentation.

The main goal is to preserve people’s traditional culture by passing down and instructing the dances to future generations. Enroll right away and contact us for further information. 

Enroll before 9th May 2024 for the Solo Folk Dance Competition.

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Please choose an age-appropriate folk-dance song of any country.
  • The duration of the song to be 2 minutes 30 seconds maximum.
  • Prepare your ward from home and promote his/her talent.
  • Make rehearsals fun at home.
  • Submit your song on email maureen.muthoni@oshwalacademy.sc.ke along with your child’s age, correct name (the way it should appear on the certificate), parent’s name, contact number and payment confirmation.
  • Open to all the children in Nairobi for participation.
  • No entries will be taken after the deadline.
  • Bring your ward dressed and makeup done from home on Saturday, 11th May 2024 for the Solo Dance Competition to school is at 8.45am sharp.
  • Be supportive and motivating for he/she can do it and that the time is still there.
  • Practice well in costume with Props and Music at home.
  • Carry extra pair of clothes, snacks and water bottle.
  • In case your child is unwell, please do not bring the child to participate.
  • Kindly fill in the indemnity form at the Reception Office.
