Folk dance is a strong impulse that involves the rhythmic movement of the body, usually to music, in a predetermined area with the intention of expressing a concept or emotion and letting off energy. It represents a popular dance considered as part of the tradition of a particular people, area or country.
To promote the chance for young, talented dancers to continue their dance interest, OSHWAL ACADEMY NAIROBI NURSERY will host a Solo Dance Competition on Thursday, 9th March 2023 for Reception learners during school hours. The theme is Folk Dance of different countries. The learners will be able to demonstrate their presentation wearing the folk costumes and using props.
The entire idea is to keep the traditional culture of people alive, by sharing and teaching younger generations the dances.
